Volunteers Needed! | Archi’s Acres

posted on June 25th, 2014 | filed under: Uncategorized

Archi's LogoWe had an amazing guest speaker at our networking meeting last week, Karen Archipley from Archi’s Acres. Karen, along with her husband Sgt. Colin Archipley, created the Veteran’s Sustainable Agriculture Training (VSAT), a six-week certificate program to help veterans transition into the workforce by providing business ownership opportunities. Karen visited us last week because they are looking for some very special volunteers. They are in need of business owners (or those who have experience running or starting a business) to serve as panel members to listen to business presentations and offer advice to VSAT graduates. They meet every 8 weeks and their next meeting is July 31st from 2:00pm – 6:00pm. An organic dinner will be served. If you or anyone you know would like to volunteer your time and sit on the panel, please contact Karen at 760-670-5490 or Karen@ArchisAcres.com. More About Archi’s Acres

Market Updte | Inventory at Highest Level in Eleven Years

posted on June 23rd, 2014 | filed under: Uncategorized

Trends At A Glance - JuneActive listings of single-family, re-sale homes reached their highest level since July 2003. The number of homes on the market was up 28.1% year-over-year.

Pending sales were up 17.6% compared to last May. This after fourteen months of year-over-year declines.

Home sales were down 11.2% from April, which is highly unusual. They were off 25.5% year-over-year.

We may be entering a period of buyers’ fatigue where the market flattens out for a while.

Of course, increasing inventory will start putting some downward pressure on prices.

June and July are typically the months with the most sales, so stay tuned for those numbers.

Foreclosure sales and short sales effect on the market continues to diminish.

There were only fifty foreclosure sales last month, down 59.7% from last May. Short sales were down 74.7% year-over-year. There were forty-five short sales.

Active foreclosures and short sale properties are lower than the year before.

There are 150 active bank-owned properties on the market. There were 173 last May.

Active short sales are down 59.5% from 798 to 323. The plunge in active short sales may be due to the banks deciding it’s more profitable to just foreclose.

Kim'sOur Coastal Dream

We moved here from Australia 3 years ago and fell in love with coastal North County. We love the friendly people, relaxed atmosphere and the beaches.

After our daughter was born, we quickly outgrew our apartment. We knew we had to move, but didn’t think we could afford a home on the coast until a friend recommend we call Jeff. With Jeff working hard on our behalf, we found the perfect home with a large yard in wonderful Encinitas. We now have a home we absolutely love and it’s all ours! – Mark, Leah & Noa Kim
